Pedro Ribas Araújo is the CEO of Advanced Cyclone Systems, S.A. (ACS), a company that was established in May 2008. This company is specialized in designing, commercializing and installing patented cyclone systems to capture particles in industry.

Pedro Ribas Araújo was born in Porto on 7 January 1977 and graduated in Management and Industrial Engineering at FEUP in 2001. He started his professional career working in logistics and sales forecasting at Throttleman. This was an important step in his career as it allowed him to consolidate the scientific approach to management, something he had learned during his degree at FEUP. At the same time, working at Throttleman, he was able to bring together the commercial and marketing strategies of business. Throttleman’s decentralized and entrepreneurial culture was fundamental to his decision to develop business projects of his own, even though in different areas.

After 2003, he co-founded several companies in the area of Sports Facility Management. He worked as Commercial Manager at MyIndoor, LxIndoor and Outdoor 7, where he holds shares. The group has built and is exploring about 16 sports facilities, with a total of 22 synthetic grass football fields.

Between 2005 and 2007, he did an MBA at UNL during which he participated in COTEC’s COHiTEC programme. The aim with this programme was to gather management students and scientists to help them create technology-based firms with high potential for growth. The ReCyclone ® technology was developed at FEUP by Romualdo Salcedo and later submitted to the COHiTEC programme, having passed all selection stages until finally share-capital investors decided to invest in it.

ReCyclone® systems are today the flagship product at ACS, serving as a technological platform for solving gas-solid separation problems in multiple industries and locations.
