PSD deputy, elected by Madeira, to the Assembly of the Republic, Sérgio Marques, wants to know what the autonomous region will be involved in the European economic recovery plan, worth 750 billion euros, of which about 25 billion euros should go to Portugal, to which EU funds are added.
Sérgio Marques wants to know how the autonomous regions will participate in these funds. The Social Democrat said that the Government of the Republic has already asked António Costa e Silva to present a draft of this plan, having already “there has already been a series of contacts of the same with the different ministries, but nothing about the autonomous regions until today”.
The PSD deputy, taking into account the hardness of the crisis that Madeira is facing, “which will still be greater than in relation to the country, given the importance of tourism is that the regions' involvement in this recovery plan should also be started” .
The social democrat underlined that there is no memory in the European Union of significant aid, although he considers that it is “up to the scale of the very serious crisis with which we are submerged” due to the effects caused by the covid-19 coronavirus.
